How it works

From form to live listing

  1. Post

Describe the role, the time it needs and any checks or requirements.

  2. We check

We confirm your organisation and read the role before anything goes live.

  3. Go live

Your opportunity appears in the directory, and you can ask us to feature it.

  4. Meet volunteers

Expressions of interest come to you and our team, ready to follow up.

Screening and safety

What we expect from every host

  • Roles are genuine volunteering: unpaid work of benefit to the community, never a substitute for a paid job.
  • Organisations tell volunteers which checks a role needs, such as a Working with Children Check or a police check.
  • Every volunteer gets an induction, a named supervisor and a safe place to work.
  • Organisations hold appropriate insurance for volunteers and follow work health and safety law.
  • Personal information from expressions of interest is used only to follow up that role.
  • We can pause or remove any listing that does not meet these expectations.

Read the host organisation terms, the safety and conduct policy and the screening and suitability notice.

What we check

  • That the organisation exists and is registered, for example on the ACNC Charity Register or the ABN Lookup
  • That the role is genuine volunteering and the description is clear and safe
  • That the contact person can act for the organisation
  • Which checks the role needs, and that the listing says so

We may call you before the role goes live, and we can ask for changes.

Questions

Questions organisations ask

Is posting free?

Yes. There is no charge to post a volunteer opportunity.

What happens after we send the form?

We check your organisation and read the role. We may call you to confirm details, and we email you when the role is live or if anything needs to change.

Can we post more than one role?

Yes. Send one form for each role so each listing is clear.

Who sees expressions of interest?

Your contact person and our team. Volunteers agree to their details being shared for that role when they express interest.

Can you help us design a role?

Yes. Ask about role design and coordination support through Organisation Partnerships.
